Week 2- Quantum Mechanics

1. Blog Assignments for Week 2:

Your reflections on Uncertainty:
This principle tells us that there is a limit to what we humans can know and understand about quantum particles. There are things that are too small that cannot be measured. Which is where the Uncertainty principle comes in. From what I understand, it is to difficult to get exact measurements of energy and time. We also cannot precisely measure the position and the momentum of a particle
SImply the act of observing or witnessing something occur directly affects what occurred. An example of this is Schrodinger's cat. This cat is chambered up with radioactive substances. When the observer opens the chamber after an hour the cat being alive or dead could be directly influenced by the observer. maybe the cat died only when the observer opened the chamber. This principle says any external influence to something can possibly influence what is happening.

I feel like this principle is confusing but makes a lot of sense to me. I believe everything is made up of energy and every energy can influence another.

Your comments on Causality
Causality is the principle of cause and effect. The concept of one thing happening directly influences something else to happen.
I can greatly relate to Casuality because I believe in the concept of karma. Which is basically the same concept as causality. This principle of causality can be seen in many ancient religions and texts. Such as Buddhism, Hinduism and Wicca/paganism. All of these religions talk about karma and manifestation. In Wiccan practices they have a known law..." what ye send fourth come back to thee, so ever bide the law of three. Follow this with mind and heart, Merry ye meet and merry ye part". This law states that whatever someone sends out to the universe it will come back to them threefold, which includes the good and the bad. I greatly believe in causality and try be aware of that concept in daily life.
This principle can be seen in the natural world as well and in nature.

Is the Universe weird?
Is the sky blue?
The only reason the universe seems weird is because our human brains may be to limited to fully understanding it.....but what's normal?

Comments

  1. Yes, what is normal?! It seems to me that human nature, or at least western human nature can't stand mystery or ambiguity.
