Week 7: Chaos Theory
1. "Ordered Chao": does this sound familiar?
It sounds familiar from class and also i've heard this a time or two in this lifetime. When I think of Ordered Chaos... I think of something happening within some type of pattern, or frame. Which adds some logic and structure to the Chaotic or disordered event or situation.
I've heard someone describes a piece of artwork as Ordered Chao's. Which contains a level of creative randomness that makes sense.
2. Fractals as patterns of complex systems
No matter how much a piece of cauliflower is broken apart it will always look the same. It doesn't matter how many fractions it's broken into, it still looks like the pattern of cauliflower. This is an example that was given in class.
No matter how many times something is broken apart, no matter how small of a fraction it becomes compared to the whole. It still contains the same identity and structure.
3. consciousness out of chaos?
Consciousness finds ways of meditating the Chaos. Consciousness tries to find order and reason in the Chao of the universe.
I often try to use this concept as a spiritual practice. Finding consciousness in the chaos is similar to finding stillness within the chaos or even chaotic events. Bringing awareness outside of the obvious reality and looking deeper to find understanding and meaning.
